- 1, 750 ml bottle of white wine (I use Pinot Grigio)
- 2 apples, cored and cut into wedges
- 2 pears, cored and cut into wedges
- 1 lemon, cut into wedges
- 2 C apple cider
- 1 C vodka
- ¼ C orange liqueur
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- Optional: club soda or lemon-lime soda to top
Add the diced apples, diced pears, and sliced lemons, apple cider, vodka, orange liqueur, white wine, and 2 cinnamon sticks to a large pitcher and stir to combine
Place pitcher in the fridge for at least 1 hour prior to serving
Serve in wine glasses or lowball glasses with ice. Optionally top with club soda or lemon lime soda, and garnish with a cinnamon stick, if desired
*The best apples for fall sangria are heartier varieties, like Pink Lady, Gala, Honeycrisp, Fuji, Granny Smith, Haralson, or Golden Delicious.
*The best white wines for sangria are good quality wines at a lower price point that you'd enjoy drinking on it’s own. Selecting a white wine that is drier to balance out the sweetness of the fruit is the best choice. Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Unoaked Chardonnay, and Dry Riesling are all great options.
*If you are making this recipe a day in advance, I recommend removing the peel from your lemon (as they can get bitter as they sit in the wine mixture for an extended period of time).
