- 1 tablespoon Brown Sugar
- 2 oz Espresso (or strongly brewed coffee)
- ½ teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- dash Ground Cinnamon* (optional)
- Ice (enough to fill jar half-way)
- 1 C Unsweetened Oat Milk
Add brown sugar, vanilla extract, and hot espresso (or strongly brewed coffee) to a mason jar and stir to combine.*
Fill the jar about half full with ice, tightly secure the lid, and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until the coffee feels cold and looks frothy.
Remove the lid and top with oat milk.
Add a straw, stir to combine, and enjoy!
*If you are adding cinnamon to your shaken espresso recipe, place it in the jar in step 1
*If you do not brew your own espresso at home - no problem! You can use strongly brewed coffee in this recipe instead. To do so, add an extra scoop (or two) of grounds when brewing your coffee
*You can also shake your ingredients in a cocktail shaker and pour into a serving glass if preferredÂ
Recipe Variations and Substitutions
- Use a different milk. This iced shaken espresso recipe also works well with dairy milk and other non-dairy milks too!
- Use brown sugar simple syrup. While I don't find a need to use a simple syrup in this recipe, brown sugar simple syrup is what Starbucks uses to make this drink. If you've purchased or made brown sugar simple syrup, use 2 tablespoons of brown sugar simple syrup per drink (in lieu of the brown sugar listed in the recipe card).
