Easy Mixed Fruit Smoothie with Spinach

Mixed fruit smoothies with spinach quick, easy, and delicious! A great way to add extra fruits and vegetables to your diet that is great for breakfast or snacking. It's also a great kid friendly smoothie with spinach option.

Ingredients

  • 2 C orange juice*
  • 1 medium banana*
  • 1 C fresh spinach
  • ½ C plain Greek yogurt*
  • 2 C frozen mixed fruit
  • 2 tablespoon ground flaxseed
  • optional: 1 serving of plain or vanilla protein powder

Instructions

  • In the basin of a standard-size blender, pour in half of the orange juice, then add the banana, spinach, flax, yogurt, and frozen fruit. If using protein powder, add at this stage. Top with the remaining orange juice.*
  • Tightly secure the lid of the blender and blend until smooth.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Notes

*You can use any type of orange juice that you like in this recipe (reduce sugar, fortified with calcium and vitamin D, etc.).
*The orange juice can be replaced with coconut water, unsweetened almond milk, or other liquid of choice if desired
*Fresh or frozen banana can be used in this smoothie recipe.
*You can use 0% - whole plain Greek yogurt in this recipe. If dairy is not a part of your diet, select a yogurt that fits your dietary needs.
*If you have a smaller-sized blender, like a Ninja single-serve or Nutribullet, quarter or halve the recipe to fit your needs.
