Ingredients

  • 1 oz brandy
  • 2 oz orange liqueur I use Grand Marnier
  • ¼ C granulated sugar*
  • 1, 750 ml bottle of rosé wine
  • 2 oranges rinsed, sliced, and any seeds removed
  • 1 container raspberries 6oz, rinsed
  • ½ container strawberries 8oz, rinsed and sliced
  • optional: sparkling water to top

Instructions

  • In a large pitcher combine the brandy, orange liqueur, and sugar. Stir until the sugar has dissolved*
  • Add in the wine, orange slices, and berries.
  • Refrigerate until ready to serve (I recommend at least a few hours to let the fruit "marinate")
  • Distribute among glasses with ice to serve. Option to top with sparkling water if desired*

Notes

*If you'd prefer to make this cocktail refined sugar free, substitute 2 tablespoon of agave syrup for the granulated sugar in this recipe.
*In step 1, I like to squeeze the juice from the end pieces of my orange slices into the pitcher. The acid helps the sugar to dissolve (and then you don't have the awkward end pieces in your sangria).
*Inactive time noted in this recipe is the minimum recommended time to let your fruit soak and flavors meld together. You can let your sangria set anywhere from 1 hour to 1 day.
*Plain sparkling water is a great option to add more bubbles to your sangria (and cut down on the boozy factor if it's a little strong for your taste). You could also try orange, tangerine, or lemon sparkling water.
