Chai Simple Syrup

This chai-spiced simple syrup is perfect for fall and winter cocktail making.

  • 1 C granulated sugar
  • 1 C water
  • 2, 3 " cinnamon sticks
  • 5, decaffeinated chai tea bags


  • Place all ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat
  • Bring to a low boil, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved and mixture has thickened (~10mins)
  • Transfer syrup to a heat-proof, air-tight storage container and store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks


*Use a good quality chai tea bag for this simple syrup recipe. I often use decaffeinated chai tea when I make this simple syrup.
