Learn how to make an iced strawberry matcha latte at home! Features an optional homemade strawberry puree layered with matcha tea, milk, and topped with strawberry cold foam.
Prepare strawberry puree (if using). Add fresh strawberries and sugar to a blender and blend until smooth. Strain through a fine mesh strainer, pressing the mixture through with a spoon to remove seeds and chunks. Set aside.
½ Cup strawberries, ½ teaspoon granulated sugar
Whisk the matcha. Add matcha powder to a small bowl with hot water and whisk vigorously with a bamboo whisk or electric frother until smooth, frothy, and free of clumps (about 1 to 2 minutes). Set aside.
¼ Cup hot water, 1 teaspoon high-quality matcha powder
Make the strawberry cold foam. Add all cold foam ingredients to a liquid measuring cup and froth with a handheld frother until fluffy. This takes 2 to 4 minutes, so be patient for the best texture!
Layer your drink. Fill a tall glass with ice. Pour desired amount of strawberry puree to the bottom (if using). Pour milk over the ice, then the whisked matcha over the milk, and top with the strawberry cold foam.
ice cubes, 6-8 ounces milk
Garnish and enjoy. Add a fresh strawberry if desired, insert a straw, stir gently, and enjoy!
