New Year's Eve Charcuterie Board (Fancy Charcuterie Board)
The best cheese boards have a variety of cheeses (I recommend at least 2-3), crackers (I recommend at least 2 kinds), cured meats (if you are not making a vegetarian board), and several sweet and savory accompaniments with a variety of textures to mix and match.Below outlines what you’ll need to recreate the board shown in the photos.
Select your serving tray or board. Optionally, line it with parchment paper (I like to do this for easier clean up, and to reduce the likelihood of staining wooden boards).
Arrange the cheeses. Cut the cheeses in different shapes and place across multiple sections of your board, leaving room to fill in between with other board items.
Add meat. Make salami roses, or fold the salami slices neatly, and place them in multiple sections of the board, arranged around the cheeses.
Add small bowls for dips / small items. Place around the board and fill with designated ingredients.
Add crackers. Stack crackers in various sections of the board in multiple positions for visual interest. If possible, keep them separate from wet or sticky ingredients to avoid soggy crackers.
Add the specialty chocolates. Distribute the Ferrero Rocher treats throughout the board.
Fill in any gaps with nuts, dried fruits, and fresh fruits. The goal is to completely cover your tray!
