This quick and easy peach simple syrup is perfect for sweetening cocktails, mocktails, teas, and sodas as well as topping pancakes, waffles, French toast, and more!
2fresh, medium peaches(rinsed, pit removed, sliced into a few pieces)
Instructions
Place all ingredients into a medium saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally and smashing the peach slices periodically to help release their juices. Continue until the sugar has dissolved (approximately 10 minutes).
Remove from heat and allow the peaches to steep in the syrup for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Pour the cooled syrup through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl or liquid measuring cup to remove the fruit.
Store the peach syrup in an air-tight container in the fridge for 1-2 weeks.

Recipe Variations and Substitutions
Use frozen peaches. If peaches aren't in season, frozen peach slices will work just fine. Just swap in the frozen peaches one-for-one with the amount of fresh peaches in the recipe card.
Add some citrus. If desired, toss in a few slices of orange or lemon peel to the syrup as it simmers for a pop of bright, citrusy flavor.
Add in some spices. If desired, toss in a cinnamon stick, a dash of nutmeg, a dash of cardamom, or a 1-2" piece of fresh ginger root to bring warm and mellow notes to your syrup (kind of like a dessert!).
StorageStore your homemade syrup in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks.
