Notes
*Note: If you are making this recipe for someone with celiac disease, make sure to select an almond milk brand that is certified as gluten free. While almond milk is naturally gluten free, it may be cross-contaminated depending on how it is processed.Recipe Variations and Substitutions
Use sweetened almond milk. Replace unsweetened almond milk with sweetened almond milk if you prefer a sweeter drink!
Try a different milk. While almond milk is how this drink was originally served at Starbucks, you can make this with dairy milk or another non-dairy milk like oat milk, soy milk, or coconut milk too.
Use coffee ice cubes to give you an extra caffeine boost.
Note for using honey instead of honey simple syrup: Honey will not dissolve in a cold beverage to blend into your drink. This can result in “globs” of honey at random times as you sip on your drink. If you didn’t have time to make honey simple syrup before you plan to make this drink, I’d recommend dissolving the honey with a little hot water to give yourself a better drink experience. You can do this by adding ¾ tablespoon of honey to ¾ tablespoon of hot water into a small bowl and mixing until dissolved.
