Notes
Recipe Variations and Substitutions:
Make your dip sweeter. I personally find this dip to be sweet enough with the caramel, toffee, and various things we like to dip in it. However, if preferred, you can add additional brown sugar to your cream cheese mixture for a sweeter dip. Increase the amount of the brown sugar from ¼ cup to ⅓ cup or even ½ cap if you like your dips really sweet.
Add chopped nuts. Adding chopped walnuts or chopped pecans to this cream cheese apple dip would be a lovely addition. If I were doing this, I would add ¼ cup of chopped nuts in at the same time as the toffee bits.
Replace the toffee bits with chopped up Heath bar or chocolate covered toffee bits. A little chocolate never hurts in my book... if you're a chocolate lover too, you may love this option!
Things to dunk in the cream cheese apple dip:Serve your dip with a variety of options for dunking, such as:
Apple slices
Ginger snaps
Graham cracker pieces
Nilla Wafers
Teddy Grahams
Storage: Store remaining dip covered with plastic wrap or in an air-tight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
