Why You’ll Love This Easy Baked Brie Recipe

3 simple ingredients. Brie with two toppings – so simple, yet delicious.

Great flavor. Earthy brie cheese is accented with sweet raspberry jam and salty pistachios.

Quick to make. It will take you about 15 minutes to make this recipe for baked brie with jam and nuts. This timeframe assumes you are using a standard sized (8-10oz) wheel of brie.

Ingredients for Baked Brie with Jam

Ingredients needed for this easy baked brie recipe. Includes a wheel of brie and jam and pistachios for topping. All ingredients are sitting on a wood and marble cutting board with a white linen next to it.

Brie Cheese. The creamy, buttery star that becomes perfectly melty when baked. Leave the rind on as it’s edible and helps hold the cheese together during baking.

Raspberry Jam or Raspberry Preserves. Adds sweet, fruity flavor that pairs beautifully with the rich brie. Seedless varieties work best for smooth spreading and easy dipping.

Lightly Salted Pistachios (shells removed). Provide crunchy texture and salty contrast to balance the creamy cheese and sweet jam.

See the recipe card below all ingredient measurements and full recipe directions.

Alternate Baked Brie Toppings

As long as you keep the ratios somewhat similar, you can swap out the toppings with anything that your family and friends enjoy! Mix and match to find what you like best! Try some of these toppings:

  • Fig jam
  • Cranberry jam (or leftover cranberry sauce!) and walnuts – we especially love using any leftover amaretto cranberry sauce!
  • Apricot jam and pecans
  • Honey and sliced almonds
  • Onion jam for a extra savory option
  • Try adding fresh herbs, like thyme or finely chopped rosemary, for another layer of flavor!

How to Bake Brie with Jam

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Unwrap brie and place into an oven safe bowl, leaving the rind on.

Slice slits in the top of the brie with a sharp knife (in a cross-hatch pattern, this doesn’t need to be artistic or perfect – this helps when dipping later).

Spread jam over brie in an even layer.

Top with pistachios.

Bake for 10-12 minutes until warm and melty (you can test this by pressing the back of a spoon into the top of the brie).

Cool a few minutes before serving.

Serve with a variety of crackers (or crostini) and enjoy!

Store leftovers in an air-tight container in the fridge for up to a week.

Making Baked Brie for a Party

Offer a variety of crackers. Provide different options like butter crackers, whole wheat, seedy, or gluten-free to please all your guests.

Have backup ingredients ready! This appetizer disappears fast, so keep extra brie, jam, and pistachios on hand for a second round.

Scale up for crowds. Use a larger 20oz wheel of brie from stores like Costco, double the toppings, and bake in a larger oven-safe dish for about 20 minutes for bigger parties.

Expert Tips for this Baked Brie without Pastry Recipe

No need to remove the rind of the brie cheese. This is edible, and helps keep your baked brie together through cooking. No need to try and remove it!

Bake and serve your brie in an oven safe bowl to contain the cheese. While it may seem fun to place your baked brie on a lovely cheese board, the moment you dip into it your melty cheese runs everywhere. Just trust me, serving it in a bowl is the way to go.

Place your oven safe dish on a baking sheet while in the oven for easy handling. This makes your life easier getting your brie in and out of the oven.

Have leftovers? You can reheat and enjoy them! You can reheat leftovers in the oven or in the microwave.

Baked Brie Cheese Recipe FAQs

How do I know when the brie is done?

The brie should feel soft when you gently press the back of a spoon into the center. It typically takes 10-12 minutes for a standard 8-10oz wheel.

What if I don’t have an oven-safe bowl?

You can use a small cast iron skillet, ceramic ramekin, or any oven-safe dish that’s just slightly larger than your brie wheel.

Can I make this ahead of time?

You can assemble the brie with toppings up to a few hours ahead and refrigerate, then bake when ready to serve. The texture is best when served immediately after baking.
