Why You’ll Love this Fruit Dip with Cream Cheese

Quick and easy to make! This is seriously one of the easiest dip recipes to make. Place ingredients in a large bowl, mix with a hand mixer until fluffy…and that’s it. Serve with an assortment of your favorite fresh fruits and enjoy!

A delicious conduit for eating more fruit. Sometimes you just have to count the small parenting victories, and if having fruit dip available helps your kids eat a lot more fruit than they usually would… I’m going to call that a win.

It’s a crowd pleaser! This tasty fruit dip will disappear fast at your next gathering!

Cream Cheese Fruit Dip Ingredients

ingredients needed to make 2 ingredient fruit dip with marshmallow fluff and cream cheese.
  • Cream Cheese. For best results, have your cream cheese at room temperature prior to mixing. It will blend much easier this way! You can use either regular cream cheese or reduced fat cream cheese in this recipe.
  • Marshmallow Fluff (aka Marshmallow Creme). Marshmallow fluff is a confectionery spread that is similar in flavor (but not texture) to standard marshmallows. The sweetness of the fluff creates a perfect balance with the cream cheese in this easy fruit dip recipe. Look in your grocery store’s baking aisle for this ingredient.

See the recipe card below for a full list of ingredients and measurements.

Helpful Equipment

Using a handheld electric mixer will help you mix together this easy fruit dip recipe in no time!

How to Make Dip for Fruit

process shot showing a mixing bowl of freshly mixed marshmallow fruit dip. above the bowl you can see the beaters of a handmixer.

Place softened cream cheese and marshmallow fluff into a large mixing bowl.

Use an electric hand mixer to mix the ingredients together until well blended and fluffy.

Serve with a variety of fresh fruits, and additional items for dipping, and enjoy!

Fruit Dip Recipe Easy Variations

  • Add some citrus. Adding 1 tablespoon of fresh squeezed orange, lime, or lemon juice is a great addition to this creamy dip recipe. You can also add in orange zest, lime zest, or lemon zest too if desired.
  • Add vanilla. Adding ½ – 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract is another nice addition to this homemade dip recipe.
  • Use strawberry cream cheese. Make this into a strawberry fruit dip by replacing the regular cream cheese with strawberry cream cheese!
  • Use Cool Whip instead of marshmallow creme. Some people prefer using Cool Whip in lieu of marshmallow fluff for fruit dip. If you’d like to give it a try, do a 1-for-1 swap with the marshmallow creme.

Possible Dietary Restrictions?

This easy fruit dip recipe is vegetarian and gluten free* as written.

*Marshmallow creme is generally considered to be gluten free. If you are serving this to someone with celiac disease, be sure to do a double check on your marshmallow fluff ingredients to verify the brand you’ve chosen.

Storing Cram Cheese Fruit Dip (2 Ingredients)

You can make this fruit dip ahead of time if desired (in my opinion, it’s best served chilled)! Store fruit dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. When ready to enjoy, re-whip it with either a whisk or electric mixer to fluff it up.

Cream cheese and marshmallow fruit dip does not freeze well.

I’ve made a similar dip using yogurt. No recipe. Carton of any flavor Yoplait yogurt (because it has a smooth texture) and a dollap of fluff. Mix. Add fluff to taste. Enjoy!
