Candy Corn Martini

Sharing is caring!

Jump to Recipe

This candy corn martini recipe creates a fun, festive layered cocktail that’s a little bit of a trick in itself! While it looks just like candy corn with its distinct orange, yellow, and white layers, it doesn’t actually taste like candy corn (it’s fruity and delicious). With just five ingredients and about two minutes of work, you can shake up this eye-catching drink that’s perfect for Halloween parties and festive fall gatherings.

I’ll be honest, I’m not a huge fan of actual candy corn… I like to have 2-3 pieces every 5 years or so, and then I’m reminded that I’m really not that into it. But I do love the nostalgia and festive vibes this candy brings to the Halloween season. Growing up, candy corn was everywhere during October, and there’s just something so fun about recreating those iconic colors in cocktail form. The best part? This martini tastes way better than the actual candy, with sweet pineapple juice, a splash of grenadine, and a cloud of whipped cream on top… it’s fruity and fabulous and festive!

As someone who’s tested countless cocktail recipes for parties over the years, I’ve learned that the most impressive drinks are often the simplest ones. This layered martini looks like you spent serious time on it, but it comes together so quickly. The key is understanding how to layer the ingredients so the colors stay distinct and beautiful, creating that signature candy corn look that gets everyone excited.

Why You’ll Love This Candy Corn Martini Recipe

Quick and easy to make. Just shake, strain, pour, and top. You can make this cocktail in under two minutes with minimal effort.

Fun and festive presentation. The layered orange, yellow, and white colors makes it a showstopper at Halloween parties.

Surprisingly fruity and delicious. Despite looking like candy corn, this martini has a light, tropical flavor from the pineapple juice that’s way more enjoyable than the actual candy (in my opinion).

Great for a crowd. The recipe scales up easily, so you can prep ingredients ahead and shake up multiple martinis quickly when entertaining.

Ingredients for Candy Corn Martini

Candy corn martini ingredients.
  • Pineapple juice. Provides the sweet, tropical base flavor and creates the yellow layer of the candy corn effect.
  • Vodka. Adds the alcohol content while letting the fruity pineapple flavor shine through (flavored vodkas work great too!).
  • Ice. Chills the pineapple juice and vodka mixture when shaken in the cocktail shaker.
  • Grenadine. This bright red syrup is heavier than the pineapple mixture, so it sinks to the bottom to create the orange layer.
  • Whipped cream topping. Creates the white top layer that completes the candy corn look. Using a squirt whipped cream from a can is easiest for this drink (vs. a homemade kind).
  • Candy corn for garnish (optional). Adds a fun finishing touch if you want to lean into the theme.

All ingredient measurements and full recipe details can be found in the recipe card at the bottom of the page.

How to Make a Candy Corn Martini

Get out a jigger, cocktail shaker, and a martini glass.

Process shot showing the pineapple juice being poured over the vodka and ice in the cocktail shaker.

Fill the cocktail shaker about half full with ice. Then pour in the vodka and pineapple juice.

Process shot showing the the cocktail shaker capped and being shaken to chill.

Cap tightly and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until chilled.

Process shot showing the pineapple juice and vodka being poured over into the martini glass.

Pour the vodka and pineapple mixture into a martini glass.

Process shot showing the grenadine being poured over the yellow layer in the martini glass, sinking to the bottom to create the orange layer.

Slowly pour the grenadine into the glass, allowing it to sink to the bottom to create that beautiful orange ombre effect. Pouring it at the edge of the glass (vs. right over the center) helps with layering.

Process shot showing the whipped cream being squirted on top for the white layer in the martini glass.

Add a generous squirt of whipped cream on top to create the white layer.

Process shot showing candy corn candies being placed on top of the whipped cream on the finished cocktail.

If desired, garnish with a few candy corn candies. Either placing them on top of the whipped cream or placing them on the rim.

Candy Corn Martini Variation Ideas

Vanilla vodka. Swap regular vodka for vanilla vodka to add a smooth, creamy flavor that complements the tropical pineapple.

Whipped cream vodka. This creates an even more dessert-like cocktail with extra sweetness and a fun flavor profile.

Coconut rum instead of vodka. If you want to go extra tropical, substitute coconut rum for the vodka to create a piΓ±a colada-inspired candy corn cocktail.

Orange juice blend. Replace half the pineapple juice with orange juice for a more citrus-forward version that still maintains the yellow color.

Candy Corn Martini Recipe FAQs

Can I make these ahead for a party?

You can prep the pineapple juice and vodka mixture ahead of time and keep it chilled in the fridge, but don’t add the grenadine or whipped cream until you’re ready to serve. The layered effect works best when assembled fresh, and the whipped cream will deflate if it sits too long. If you’re serving a crowd, consider setting up a little “martini bar” station where guests can watch you layer their drinks, it’s part of the fun!

Why didn’t my layers separate properly?

The most common issue is pouring the grenadine too quickly or directly onto the pineapple mixture, which causes the colors to mix. Pour the grenadine slowly and gently into the glass, letting it naturally sink to the bottom. Also make sure your pineapple vodka mixture is cold. If it’s warm, the grenadine won’t sink as easily.

Can I use a different glass if I don’t have martini glasses?

Absolutely! While martini glasses show off the layers beautifully, and gives your drink a candy corn shape, you can use any clear glass. Try a rocks glasses, wine glasses, or even highball glasses. The key is using something clear so you can see those pretty candy corn colors.

Does this taste like actual candy corn?

Nope! Despite looking like candy corn, this martini has a fruity, tropical flavor from the pineapple juice with a hint of sweetness from the grenadine. If you actually want it to taste more like candy corn candy, you could add a splash of vanilla extract or use vanilla vodka, but honestly the fruity version is delicious.

Equipment

  • Jigger
  • Cocktail Shaker
  • Martini Glass

Ingredients

  • Ice (for shaking)
  • 4 ounces 100% pineapple juice
  • 1 ounce vodka
  • Β½ ounce grenadine
  • squirt whipped cream for topping
  • optional candy corn candies for garnish

Instructions

  • Shake the yellow layer. Add ice, pineapple juice, and vodka to your cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until chilled.
  • Strain into your glass. Pour the pineapple and vodka mixture into your martini glass.
  • Slowly add the grenadine. Slowly pour the grenadine into the glass. For best results, pour it close to the edge of the glass, helping it to sink to the bottom and create the orange ombre effect. Pouring it quickly or over the center of the cocktail can cause the colors to blend together and you'll lose the layered look.
  • Top with whipped cream. Add a generous squirt of whipped cream on top to create the white layer.
  • Garnish and enjoy. If desired, add a few candy corn candies to the rim of your glass or simply place them on top of the whipped cream layer for a festive finishing touch. Cheers!

Notes

Variation Ideas:
  • Vanilla vodka. Swap 1-for-1 to add a smooth, creamy flavor that complements the tropical pineapple.
  • Whipped cream vodka. Swap 1-for-1 for an even more dessert-like cocktail.
  • Coconut rum instead of vodka. For an extra tropical cocktail, substitute coconut rum 1-for-1 with the vodka to create a piΓ±a colada-inspired drink.
  • Orange juice blend. Replace half the pineapple juice with orange juice for a more citrus-forward version that still maintains the yellow color.
