What is a Mocktail?

Mocktails are specialty non-alcoholic drinks. Sometimes they are non-alcoholic versions of cocktails, and sometimes they are fun drink recipes all on their own. Mocktails are great for those wishing to abstain from alcohol, for kids, and for pregnant women.

Did you Say This is Somewhat Healthy? Tell Me More.

The benefits of cranberries and the benefits of pomegranate are innumerable! Both of these fruits are touted as having high-levels of antioxidants and vitamins, as well as being good for digestive health. Pomegranate juice is also said to have anti-inflammatory properties.

Choosing 100% cranberry juice, 100% pomegranate juice, and fresh-squeezed orange juice in this mocktail recipe is purposeful. Using these ingredients ensures that there are no miscellaneous additives or added sugars from the juices used, making your mocktail healthier and a guilt-free beverage for you to enjoy!

Having a Party? Make This into a Non-Alcoholic Punch!

In need of an easy punch recipe? Looking for a punch for Christmas? Hosting an event with lots of kiddos in attendance? Turn this cranberry pomegranate mocktail recipe into a large-scale non-alcoholic drink recipe for your guests to enjoy! Just use the same ratio of each ingredient, multiplied out to fill whatever bowl or dispenser you plan to serve your party drink in.

MAKE AHEAD TIP: If you are putting together your punch ahead of the party, mix together your juices but wait on adding the soda. Add chilled lemon-lime soda to your punch bowl or drink dispenser just before serving. Doing this will ensure your party punch is bubbly!

  1. Fill a lowball (or rocks glass) full of ice
  2. Add pomegranate juice, cranberry juice, and orange juice to the glass
  3. Top with lemon-lime soda and stir to combine

Expert Tips

Want to turn this into a cranberry pomegranate cocktail? Add vodka! For those who’d like to kick things up a notch, add 1-2oz of vodka to this mocktail recipe to turn this into a cocktail.

Want to make this a refined sugar free mocktail? Select a lemon-lime soda that fits this requirement. While I usually make my mocktail recipes with Sprite or 7up (because I can buy them in mini-cans), there are several brands that make sugar-free sodas too! My go-to sugar-free soda is Zevia, which I can find readily at my local grocery store.
