There is just something about pineapple drinks that scream summertime. Made with four ingredients, this pineapple skinny margarita is a perfect choice any night of the week.

Two glasses with salted rims filled with this skinny pineapple margarita recipe and ice. Surrounded by a pineapple, orange slices, and lime slices.

This skinny pineapple margarita recipe hits all the marks of a perfect summer cocktail. It’s lighter than a classic margarita and also takes a classic skinny margarita up a notch with the perfect pop of pineapple deliciousness. This light and refreshing cocktail is simply made with fruit juices and tequila.

If you’ve been looking for pineapple cocktail recipes, want to change up your go-to weekend margarita, or want to try a new tequila cocktail recipe – this is the drink for you!

Why You’ll Love This Pineapple Margarita Recipe

Level of difficulty: Easy. Juice your orange and lime, shake all ingredients, and enjoy!

Flavor: This pineapple juice and tequila cocktail is citrusy and pineappley (that’s a word, right?).

Time: It will take you approximately 5 minutes to mix up your skinny pineapple margarita.

Ingredients for This Fresh Margarita Recipe

Ingredient shot for this skinny margarita recipe: orange slices, lime slices, pineapple juice and tequila.

1 Medium Orange: fresh orange juice is the perfect citrus base for your skinny margarita

1 Lime: fresh lime adds brightness and a little zing to your tequila cocktail

Pineapple Juice: look for a pineapple juice that is 100% juice with no sugars added

Tequila: you will need tequila blanco, or silver tequila, for this skinny margarita recipe

Optional Add-In: Simple Syrup: if you’d like a little bit of sweetness added to your marg, adding in a little simple syrup is the perfect addition to your pineapple tequila cocktail!

How to Make a Pineapple Juice Margarita

If you’re going to have a salted rim, run a lime wedge around the rim of your glasses and dip into a small dish filled with 3-4 Tablespoons of salt. Set your glasses aside.

Juice your orange and lime. If desired, strain into your cocktail shaker (I like to do this, but it is not a necessary step).

Place the remainder of your ingredients into your shaker with ice and shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker is very cold (approximately 15 seconds).

Divide between two glasses filled with ice and enjoy!

Pour shot of a glass being filled with a freshly shaken skinny pineapple margarita. Surrounded by slices or oranges and limes and a pineapple.

Expert Tips for the Very Best Pineapple Margarita on the Rocks

Add a salted rim, or a sugar-salt rim, for a little added fun! A margarita with a salted rim is a classic! I personally enjoy doing a half salt, half sugar rim on my cocktails. To add a salt rim to your margarita glasses, run a lime wedge around the rim of your glasses and dip into a small dish filled with 3-4 Tablespoons of salt (or a dish filled with about 2 Tablespoons each of sugar and salt).

Need to add a little sweetness to take the edge off of this bright and citrusy marg? Add a little simple syrup! I’d recommend trying your pineapple cocktail after shaking it up, and if a little sweetness would be preferred, stir in ½ oz of simple syrup to your glass.

Find a blanco tequila you like for the most enjoyable margarita! Blanco tequilas are a light spirit that are perfect for margaritas! Since this skinny pineapple margarita is made with fresh juices and not a lot else, using a good quality tequila is extra important. There are a lot of great options out there, but if you’re new to tequila, check in at your local liquor store and they can help you select the perfect one for you!
